How the firmware updater works
The updater scans for connected Plantronics devices when you launch it. Once your headset is detected, the tool displays your current firmware version and the latest available build. You click Update and the process runs automatically—flashing the new code, verifying checksums, and restarting your headset. We preserve all your custom settings including equalizer curves, sidetone levels, and button mappings.
The tool also archives the previous firmware version in a local cache. If you experience issues after an update, you can roll back to the prior build with one click. This safety net is especially valuable in call-center environments where uptime matters. Leave your headset connected and powered on. The updater detects incomplete flashes and enters recovery mode automatically. It will re-download the firmware package and attempt the update again from the beginning. Most recovery attempts succeed on the second try.
