Audio Engineering & Microphone Performance
Our acoustic team tuned the M70’s 10 mm speaker driver to prioritize voice clarity over bass, so speech remains intelligible whether you’re on a conference bridge or walking through a train station. The noise-canceling microphone isolates your voice using a dual-layer windscreen and digital signal processing that attenuates background hum.
You’ll notice the difference on windy days—the M70’s DSP algorithms reduce wind roar by up to 80 percent compared to earlier models. We also added a second omnidirectional mic for echo cancellation, which prevents your own voice from bouncing back during calls. These refinements mirror the engineering found in our Explorer 500 over-ear line, scaled to a discreet mono form factor.
Battery Life & Power Management
DeepSleep mode activates automatically when the M70 loses Bluetooth signal for more than ninety minutes. In this state, power draw drops to near zero, preserving the battery for up to six months. A quick-charge circuit delivers one hour of talk time from a fifteen-minute USB charge.
At full capacity the lithium-polymer cell provides eleven hours of continuous talk or sixteen days of standby with DeepSleep disabled. The LED indicator pulses red when fewer than thirty minutes remain, giving you time to find a charger before a call drops.
Voice Alerts & Smart Pairing
Spoken Status Updates
The M70 announces connection status, mute state, and remaining talk time in your choice of English, Spanish, or French. These alerts play through the earbud speaker, so you never have to glance at your phone mid-call to check battery or confirm that mute is active.
Multipoint Connectivity
Pair the headset with two devices simultaneously—your work smartphone and personal tablet, for example—and the M70 will ring for incoming calls on either one. Switching is automatic: answer a call on device A, then accept an incoming call on device B, and the headset transitions without manual re-pairing. This dual-standby feature also appears in the Marque 2 series, which layers in active noise cancellation for open-office environments.

Turn off the headset, then press and hold the call button until the LED flashes red and blue. On your phone, enable Bluetooth and select M70 from the list of available devices. You’ll hear a voice prompt confirming the connection.
To pair a second device, repeat the process while the first device remains connected. The M70 will maintain both pairings and ring for incoming calls on either phone.
DeepSleep automatically engages when the headset loses Bluetooth signal for ninety minutes or longer. In this ultra-low-power state, the battery can hold a charge for up to six months.

Every M70 package contains the headset, three soft-gel eartip sizes, one convertible over-ear hook, a USB charging cable, and a quick-start guide. We do not include an AC adapter, but the headset charges from any standard USB port.
Download the free Plantronics Hub app for iOS or Android, then connect your M70 via Bluetooth. Navigate to the settings menu and select your preferred alert language from the dropdown. The app also displays real-time battery percentage and available firmware updates.
