Plantronics Savi 440 Wireless Headset
The Plantronics Savi 440 is a professional-grade wireless headset built for desk phone environments where mobility and call clarity matter. Designed for office workers who need to move freely while on calls, it pairs DECT 6.0 wireless technology with our signature noise-canceling microphone for secure, interference-free conversations.
We built the Savi 440 with a convertible wearing style—switch between over-the-head, over-the-ear, and behind-the-neck configurations to match your comfort preference throughout the workday. The leatherette ear cushion reduces pressure during extended wear, while the adjustable boom arm positions the mic for optimal voice pickup. With up to 350 feet of wireless range, you can step away from your desk without dropping a call.

DECT 6.0 wireless technology & secure connectivity

The Savi 440 operates on the DECT 6.0 frequency band, which runs separately from your office Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices. This prevents call dropouts and audio interference common in crowded wireless environments.
You get a dedicated one-to-one connection between headset and base unit, with encryption built into the DECT standard. The base station plugs into your desk phone’s handset port and manages pairing automatically—no software installation or IT involvement required. Range extends up to 350 feet in open environments, though walls and office furniture will reduce that distance in typical cubicle layouts.
Convertible wearing styles & comfort design

We ship the Savi 440 with three wearing configurations in the box. The over-the-head band offers the most stable fit for active movers. The over-the-ear hook works well if you wear glasses or prefer minimal contact. The behind-the-neck option keeps hair clear and suits users who switch between headset and handset throughout the day.
The leatherette ear cushion sits against one ear in a monaural design—you hear calls in your left or right ear while keeping the other ear open to your surroundings. This mono configuration is standard in professional office headsets where awareness of coworkers and ambient sound is important. The cushion measures approximately 1.5 inches in diameter and uses memory foam beneath the leatherette cover.
Compatibility & desk phone setup

The Plantronics Savi 440 connects to analog desk phones through the included HL10 lifter or an electronic hookswitch cable (sold separately for compatible models). The lifter is a mechanical arm that physically raises and lowers your desk phone’s handset when you press the headset’s call button.
Most standard business desk phones work with the HL10 lifter. If your phone model supports electronic hookswitch (EHS), a direct cable provides cleaner integration and remote call answer without the mechanical lifter. Check your phone’s documentation or contact our support team to confirm the best connection method for your specific model.

Common questions about the Savi 440
The Savi 440 connects to analog desk phones through the handset port. If your VoIP phone has a standard handset jack and supports either an HL10 lifter or electronic hookswitch, it will work. Many VoIP desk phones function identically to traditional analog phones for headset purposes. Check your phone model’s headset compatibility or contact our support team with your specific VoIP phone model for confirmation.
The base model Savi 440 connects only to desk phones. If you need PC softphone connectivity, consider our Savi 740 model, which handles desk phone, PC, and mobile connections simultaneously. You can also add PC capability to the Savi 440 by purchasing a separate USB adapter accessory, though this requires an additional purchase and setup step.
The headset ear speaker has a circular attachment point where you snap in your chosen style. To switch, gently pull the current attachment straight off the speaker and align the new style’s connector with the circular port until it clicks into place. The over-the-head headband, over-the-ear hook, and behind-the-neck band all use the same attachment mechanism. Most users find their preferred style within the first day and leave it installed.
Plantronics rates the Savi 440 at up to 350 feet in ideal conditions, which means open line-of-sight with no obstacles. In real office environments with cubicle walls, file cabinets, and other furniture, expect 100 to 150 feet of usable range. Concrete or metal walls reduce range more than drywall partitions. Most users can reach nearby conference rooms and break areas without losing connection.
You get approximately six hours of continuous talk time per charge. If you take calls intermittently throughout the day rather than speaking non-stop, the headset will last a full eight-hour shift. The charging base fully recharges the battery in about three hours. We recommend docking the headset between calls to maintain charge, especially during high-volume call days.
The Plantronics Savi 440 meets ANSI hearing aid compatibility standards for magnetic coupling. Users with telecoil-equipped hearing aids typically experience clear audio without interference. If you use hearing aids, test the over-the-ear wearing style first, as it positions the speaker differently than the over-the-head band. Our return policy allows you to try the headset risk-free if compatibility is a concern.
Yes. DECT 6.0 technology uses frequency-hopping and unique pairing between each headset and its base unit. You can deploy dozens of Savi 440 systems in the same workspace without cross-talk or interference. Each base unit creates its own secure connection to its paired headset. This makes the Savi 440 ideal for call centers and open office layouts where many employees use wireless headsets simultaneously.
