The over-the-ear hook rotates 180 degrees to fit either ear and distributes weight across the outer ear rather than pressing into the ear canal. If your desk phone has a dedicated headset port (usually a port with a headset icon), you can plug the CS540’s direct-connect cable into that port and answer calls remotely using the button on the headset. The phone automatically routes audio to the headset when you press answer.
If your phone lacks a headset port or you want the base to physically answer the call even when you’re away from your desk, add the HL10 handset lifter. It mounts on the handset cradle and mechanically lifts the handset when you press the call-answer button on your headset, giving you true remote answer capability from anywhere within wireless range.
